Valentino Rossi’s Next Gear: From WEC Racing, VR46, to a Brad Pitt Feature Film

Valentino Rossi may have hung up his helmet in MotoGP, but the global superstar is anything but retired. Far from fading into the background, “The Doctor” remains deeply embedded in the motorsports world, aggressively building a multifaceted legacy.

Since stepping away from the premier class, Rossi has transitioned smoothly to four-wheel racing, notably driving for Team WRT in the prestigious FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Simultaneously, he spearheads his own successful motorcycle racing outfit, the VR46 Racing Team, which competes fiercely in the MotoGP paddock.

Rossi’s magnetic persona continues to draw motorsports fans globally, and he is now planning to take his story to an entirely new arena: the entertainment world.

The Italian icon recently confirmed his extensive new media plans, which include the launch of a book, a TV series, and potentially a major film.

Speaking on Radio Deejay’s “Say Waaad” program, Rossi detailed the ambitious timeline: “We’re on it, we’re working on it. We’re writing the book, and when we’ve finished it, we’ll be ready for the series. It will be a documentary, a docuseries.”

These projects will undoubtedly be rich with decades of history, defining rivalries, and the countless triumphs that marked his glorious MotoGP career. For motorsports enthusiasts, this promises a unique opportunity to relive the unparalleled adventure of The Doctor.

While the docuseries focuses on authenticity, Rossi also openly entertained the idea of a feature film. When asked who he would like to see play him on the big screen, he offered a classic, light-hearted reply:

“Brad Pitt could do it. He’s been a Formula 1 driver, even if he’s no longer very young. Brad would be fine for me, we look alike,” he quipped.
