Asian Le Mans Series Roars into Sepang: A Blockbuster Start to the 2025–26 Season

The Asian Le Mans Series returns this weekend, and it’s starting with a bang. Two four-hour endurance races at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit will set the tone for a season packed with drama, speed, and high stakes.

The curtain rises on Saturday, 13 December, with the first 4 Hours of Sepang, followed by Race 2 just 24 hours later.

A staggering 48 cars will take the start: 16 LMP2 prototypes, 10 next-generation LMP3 machines, and 22 LMGT3 entries. In total, 144 drivers and 35 teams representing 35 nationalities will battle it out—proof of the series’ growing international stature and fierce competitiveness.

LMP2: Heavyweights Ready for War

Defending champion Algarve Pro Racing leads the charge with two Oreca 07-Gibsons and a third car under the Crowdstrike Racing by APR banner. Watch for the #25 Oreca piloted by Michael Jensen, Enzo Trulli, and Tom Dillmann—fresh off his LMP2 triumph at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Inter Europol Competition, United Autosports, DKR Engineering, and Nielsen Racing add further firepower to a stacked field. Ferrari fans will have their eyes on Antonio Fuoco, the 2024 Le Mans winner, sharing the #47 Cetilar Racing Oreca with Roberto Lacorte and Charles Milesi.

LMP3: A New Era Begins

The LMP3 class ushers in third-generation prototypes powered by 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 Toyota engines. Bretton Racing returns with its Ligier JS P325, while CLX Motorsport—formerly COOL Racing—looks to translate its European Le Mans Series dominance to Asia.

LMGT3: Seven Manufacturers, One Epic Showdown

The GT3 grid promises fireworks with seven marques in the mix: Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche. Manthey Racing defends its crown with two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs, featuring stars like Richard Lietz and Klaus Bachler.

Corvette’s JMR squad brings royal flair with Prince Jefri Ibrahim and Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim behind the wheel of the Z06 GT3.R. TF Sport and Racing Team Turkey add further intrigue with proven talents Salih Yoluc and Charlie Eastwood.

When and Where to Watch

Race 1 goes green at 05:00 UTC on Saturday, 13 December, with Race 2 following on Sunday. Qualifying and both races will stream live on the SPOTV NOW app.
