“My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to compete, which is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing, including Queen’s and Wimbledon,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
“They are two truly special tournaments for me and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible!”
The world number two injured his wrist during his first-round win over Otto Virtanen at the Barcelona Open in April, a setback that forced him to retire before his second-round match.
He subsequently pulled out of the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, both of which were won by Jannik Sinner.
Five players set to feature in the 2026 A-League Grand Final were named in the Professional Footballers Australia's (PFA) A-League Team of the Season, underlining the quality on show ahead of this Saturday’s title decider.
Sydney FC goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares, who received the most votes from his peers and was named team captain, was joined by teammate Paul Okon-Engstler in the 18-man squad.
Auckland FC, meanwhile, had three representatives in the starting XI with Golden Boot winner Sam Cosgrove, Jesse Randall and Francis de Vries.
Premiers Newcastle Jets were the best-represented club overall with seven players selected, including starters Mark Natta, Max Burgess and Clayton Taylor, while Mark Milligan was named as the head coach following the club’s historic campaign.
Adelaide United contributed Ethan Alagich and Panagiotis Kikianis to the starting XI, while Melbourne City’s Nathaniel Atkinson, Aziz Behich and Marcus Younis also earned recognition.
Melbourne Victory star Juan Mata rounded out the midfield selection after an impressive debut season in the A-League.
Notably, Mata and Cosgrove were the only players in the Team of the Season from outside Australia and New Zealand, giving an international touch to an otherwise trans-Tasman-dominated squad.
Alexandra Eala will lead Southeast Asia’s challenge at Wimbledon after the Filipino secured direct entry into the women’s singles main draw for the 2026 Championships.
Ranked 38th on the entry list, Eala headlines a small Southeast Asian presence at the All England Club, joined by Indonesia’s Janice Tjen and Thailand’s Lanlana Tararudee in the women’s singles main draw.
Thailand could yet add another representative, with Mananchaya Sawangkaew listed among the women’s alternates and still in contention for a late call-up.
That brings Southeast Asia’s total representation across the singles entry and alternate lists to four, with women’s tennis once again carrying the region’s hopes on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Eala, in particular, will arrive with growing expectations after her steady rise on tour, as the 21-year-old continues to establish herself as Southeast Asia’s leading player in the women’s game.
This year’s Wimbledon singles fields will otherwise feature many of tennis’ biggest names, with defending champions Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek returning to headline the men’s and women’s draws respectively.
However, the Championships will be without Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew after failing to recover in time from a wrist injury.
Formula One world champion Lando Norris revealed his interest in getting involved in Formula E during the 2026 Monaco E-Prix weekend.
With F1 on a break, the McLaren driver made his first visit to the all-electric championship paddock as Formula E staged its Monaco double-header in Monte Carlo.
The 26-year-old also spent time in the Andretti garage with fellow Briton Jake Dennis.
During a grid walk interview, Norris opened up about his curiosity towards Formula E and hinted at plans to get behind the wheel of one of its cars in the future.
“This is the first-ever [Formula E] race I’ve been to and I’m excited,” he said.
“There are a lot of guys that I know racing here and the racing’s always good to watch, always chaos, always carnage and always unpredictable [which are] everything you want from racing.
“You’re watching a series that has top class athletes, some of the best in the world; it’s something I enjoy watching and being a part of.
“I was planning to do a bit of driving in a Formula E car at some point. I’ve spoken to Jake [Dennis] and a few of the other guys who’ve driven here.
“Not everything correlates between the two [Formula 1 and Formula E] but there are always things you can learn by speaking to and listening to drivers that are at the top of this category.”
The Monaco E-Prix weekend saw Nyck de Vries take victory in the opening race before Oliver Rowland won Race 2, making them the eighth and ninth different winners of what has been one of Formula E’s most unpredictable seasons in recent years.
After 10 rounds, António Félix da Costa remains the only driver with more than one win, while Mitch Evans leads the drivers’ standings with 128 points, 19 ahead of Rowland in second.

Jorge Martin’s crash brought an early scare to MotoGP’s in-season Barcelona test on Monday, with the Aprilia Racing rider falling heavily and triggering a red flag.
The 2024 world champion was taken to hospital for further checks after the incident, adding to a bruising Catalan Grand Prix weekend in which he had already endured multiple crashes.
The interruption was one of several factors that disrupted the day, as rain later swept across the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and effectively brought running to an early end, limiting meaningful track action in the afternoon.
Shortened, rain-disrupted but productive nonetheless!
When the timesheets were finalised, Pedro Acosta emerged fastest for Red Bull KTM with a best lap of 1:38.767, narrowly edging Fabio Quartararo (+0.064s), while Enea Bastianini (+0.117s) completed the top three in a rain-shortened test.
The test also took place with a depleted field following Sunday’s chaotic Catalan Grand Prix, with riders such as race winner Fabio Di Giannantonio, Alex Marquez and Johann Zarco absent through injury.
Only 19 MotoGP riders took to the track as teams wrapped up one of their key in-season development days before the paddock heads to Mugello.
MotoGP action resumes next week at the Italian Grand Prix, where teams will hope for a cleaner weekend after a dramatic and injury-hit spell in Barcelona.
