Carlos Alcaraz confirmed he would miss the 2026 Wimbledon Championships as he continues to recover from a wrist injury.

The two-time Wimbledon champion had already ruled himself out of Roland Garros because of the same issue.

“My recovery is going well and I’m feeling much better, but unfortunately I’m still not ready to compete, which is why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing, including Queen’s and Wimbledon,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

“They are two truly special tournaments for me and I will miss them a lot. We’ll keep working to come back as soon as possible!”

The world number two injured his wrist during his first-round win over Otto Virtanen at the Barcelona Open in April, a setback that forced him to retire before his second-round match.

He subsequently pulled out of the Madrid Open and the Italian Open, both of which were won by Jannik Sinner.
