Gresini Racing go full One Piece for MotoGP’s Asian swing

Gresini Racing gave MotoGP’s upcoming run of races a One Piece makeover as the championship heads to Asia and Australia in October.

The Italian team shared a specially designed map inspired by the popular Japanese manga and anime series, plotting their journey through the next four Grands Prix.

Japan is represented as Wano, followed by Indonesia as Amazon Lily, Australia as Alabasta and Malaysia as Sabaody Archipelago.

The four stops mirror locations from the fictional One Piece world, with Gresini describing the journey as their “Grand Prix Line” in a nod to the Grand Line sailed by Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.

It is particularly fitting as MotoGP prepares for the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi, the first stop of a four-round stretch through the four countries, with fans able to tune in live via SPOTV NOW.

The One Piece theme is the latest example of Gresini mixing MotoGP with pop culture through their increasingly distinctive social media campaigns.

The team launched their Facciamo un Cinema project in 2024, placing their riders into recreations of famous films and movie posters throughout the season.

That was followed by Gresini Records in 2025, which turned to music and saw Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer recreate famous album covers.

The concept changed again this year with Gresinix, a television-inspired campaign that has drawn on some of the world’s most recognisable shows throughout the season.

Gresini have put their own spin on series including The Simpsons, The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Big Bang Theory, Cobra Kai and Breaking Bad, regularly placing their riders at the centre of the references.
