Indonesian young rider Veda Pratama is officially set to compete in the 2026 Moto3 World Championship. This was confirmed after Honda Team Asia announced their rider lineup for the upcoming season on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Through their official Instagram account, Honda Team Asia revealed that they will take on the 2026 season with Veda Pratama and Zen Mitani.
As stated in the announcement:
“The rise of a new generation. Two future stars, one unstoppable team!”
Veda and Zen are no strangers to each other. The two have crossed paths in the racing world for quite some time.
In 2023, they competed in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup (ATC), where Veda emerged as the champion, making history as the first Indonesian rider to win the title.
In 2024, it was Mitani’s turn to claim the ATC title after Veda moved up to the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in the Supersport 600 class.
They reunited in 2025 as rivals once again in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, where Veda, still only 16 years old, finished the season as runner-up, while Mitani placed 7th overall.
Both riders are products of the Honda and Idemitsu Development Program, which nurtures young Asian talent and exposes them to international racing.
Indonesian Star Also Competing in Moto2
At the Moto2 level, Indonesia continues to be represented. Mario Aji will remain with Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, marking his third year with the team.
In 2026, Aji will be joined by Japanese rider Taiyo Furusato, who has been promoted from Moto3.
Furusato’s spot in Moto3 will now be filled by Veda.
Aji and Furusato are actually reuniting in Moto2, as they were previously teammates in Moto3 from 2022 to 2023, also under Honda Team Asia.
With Veda and Aji competing in different classes, this adds even more reason to follow the 2026 MotoGP season. All race classes are available to stream on the SPOTV NOW app.
