Baseball fans, mark your calendars! MLB Spring Training 2026 is just around the corner, bringing fresh excitement, new events, and a glimpse of the season ahead. Here’s everything you need to know:

When Does Spring Training Start?

Spring Training officially kicks off on Friday, February 20, 2026, with a handful of games in Arizona (Cactus League) and Florida (Grapefruit League) including four in the Cactus League (D-backs-Rockies, Padres-Mariners, Royals-Rangers, and White Sox-Cubs), one in the Grapefruit League (Yankees-Orioles) and two exhibition matchups (Red Sox-Northeastern University and Twins-University of Minnesota).

The full slate of games begins the next day, Saturday, February 21, when all 30 MLB teams take the field.

How Long Will It Last?

The Spring Training schedule runs through March 24, 2026, giving fans over a month of exhibition baseball. Afterward, teams will play a few special exhibition games at Major and Minor League parks before the regular season begins.

What’s New in 2026?

Spring Training isn’t just about warm-up games anymore. This year introduces several exciting events:

World Baseball Classic Exhibitions (March 3–4):
MLB teams will face off against international squads in 28 exhibition games, offering fans a taste of global competition.

Team USA, which finished as the runner-up to Team Japan at the 2023 World Baseball Classic, will play a pair of games in Scottsdale, Arizona. The first comes against the Giants on March 3 at Scottsdale Stadium, while the second will be against the Rockies on March 4 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Those tune-up games will come just ahead of the start of the 2026 World Baseball Classic. The North American portion of the tournament kicks off on March 6, with games in Miami, Houston and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Special Venue Games:

    • The Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels in Las Vegas (March 7–8).

When Does the Regular Season Begin?

The wait for meaningful baseball ends on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, with Opening Night featuring the San Francisco Giants vs. New York Yankees at Oracle Park. The following day, March 26, brings a full slate of 14 games for Opening Day.
