Saudi Pro League 2025/26 enters its fifth week this week. One of the matches broadcast on SPOTV NOW is Al Ettifaq vs Al Hilal, scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, at EGO Stadium, Dammam.

The visiting team is aiming to climb to the top of the standings to keep pressure on Al Nassr. However, they must overcome inconsistency in the league.

Al Hilal remains unbeaten in their first four matches of the season. Even so, their record isn’t perfect. Ruben Neves and co. have won twice and drawn twice, placing them in eighth position.

Their attacking power is spectacular, but they’ve struggled to maintain defensive solidity. The 10 goals they’ve scored are the second-highest in the league, but goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has already conceded six goals.

An average of 1.5 goals conceded per match is certainly not a good record for a team with championship ambitions.

The arrival of new coach Simone Inzaghi has brought fresh energy to the team. Several players have mentioned that the former Inter Milan coach brings a different approach.

However, Inzaghi’s vision seems not to have been fully realized within the team yet.

During his time at Inter, a solid and compact defense built on three central defenders was key. That level of solidity has yet to be seen with Al Hilal.

One possible reason for the team’s lack of cohesion is the injury crisis.

Currently, Darwin Núñez and Malcom are still undergoing rehabilitation programs, along with João Cancelo. The absence of these players has disrupted the team’s rhythm and affected defensive stability.

Their next opponent is Al Ettifaq, who are just one point behind them.

The home side will rely on the leadership and creativity of Georginio Wijnaldum. His composure and experience are valuable in controlling the midfield.

His role in the team’s attacking transitions is also significant. The former Liverpool player recently scored in his team’s 3–1 win over Damac in Week 4.

In terms of head-to-head record, Al Hilal is the clear favorite. In the last 10 meetings, Al Hilal has won nine times and drawn once.

It looks like Al Hilal will secure a crucial three points this weekend.
