Arsenal are currently on a magnificent cruise, and their European performance on Wednesday evening provided the latest proof. The Gunners secured a dominant 3-1 win over German giants Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium.

This fantastic result extends Arsenal’s 100 percent winning record in the Champions League this season, putting them three points clear at the top of their group table.

Arsenal stands as one of the few teams—shared with Inter Milan (prior to Matchday 5)—to maintain a perfect European record. The victory over Bayern showcases the depth and sheer quality of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was full of praise after the match:

“First of all, I have to praise our players because I think they had an incredible match against, in my opinion, the best team in Europe.”

“Individually, we were immense to resolve all the challenges that this team brings to the table. They know how hard we work to prepare for every single game.”

Arteta also stressed the importance of maintaining focus amid the positive momentum:

“We know that the margins are super small. We started the week really well against Spurs, winning here at home. Today is another massive victory, but that’s it.”

“Now we go home, have a nice dinner and tomorrow morning we start to prepare for Stamford Bridge [away to Chelsea on Sunday].”

Depth Shines Through in Second Half

The first half ended 1-1, after Jurrien Timber’s opening header was canceled out by an equalizer from Lennart Karl in the 32nd minute.

Both second-half goals came from substitutes. Noni Madueke netted a beautiful goal, which was set up by an assist from another substitute, Riccardo Calafiori.

The comprehensive rout was sealed by a strike from Gabriel Martinelli, further underlining the remarkable squad depth Arsenal possesses this season.

Star midfielder Declan Rice spoke candidly about Arsenal’s ability to cope with key player injuries:

“We’ve navigated it really well so far without them, but now we’ve got them back I think you’re going to see a different Arsenal that can win a game in any context. Exciting times to come.

When pressed on whether Arsenal are now title favorites, Rice chose to remain grounded and focused on the process:

“That’s just a lot of talk. The Champions League – you’re either in or you’re out. At the moment, it’s only the league phase, anything can happen. Look at last season, Liverpool finished top last year, then they faced [Paris Saint-Germain] and they were out.”

“We just have to take it one game at a time, stay focused and be ready for whatever is thrown at us, because on our day I think we can beat anyone.”

Rice concluded by expressing his enjoyment of the current busy fixture list:

“There are a lot of games going on at the minute. I actually prefer that; I’m in a state where there are games every three or four days and I’m enjoying it because I’m getting in a rhythm and probably feeling the best I’ve ever felt.”
