Bagnaia ‘happy’ with new Ducati bike after MotoGP Valencia test

Francesco Bagnaia gave a positive first impression of Ducati’s 2026 bike after completing the post-season Valencia test on Tuesday.

The Ducati Lenovo Team rider endured a difficult 2025 MotoGP campaign, finishing fifth in the riders’ standings and recording seven DNFs, including five consecutive retirements from Indonesia to the Valencia finale.

Despite ending the day only 10th on the timesheet and being the sole rider to run off into the gravel, the Italian was satisfied with his 50-lap session around Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

“I feel positive and happy overall,” the two-time MotoGP world champion said after the test.

“The first approach to the 2026 bike was working well and I was able to push and understand things.

“What changed the most was the approach to the braking [point]. I was able to brake really hard, something that was missing in the last few years.

“[The bike felt] much better compared to the last few Grands Prix.”
