Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah was penalised following an incident after the chequered flag in Race 2 of the 2026 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) season opener at the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday.
The JDT Racing Team rider slowed down to celebrate his victory while other riders were still completing the race.

The Race Direction deemed the move dangerous and handed the 31-year-old Malaysian a USD500 fine and a one long lap penalty, which he will serve in Race 1 of the next round he participates in.
The penalty put a slight damper on the reigning ASB1000 champion’s dominant weekend in front of his home crowd.
Hafizh won both races ahead of Japanese rider Keito Abe and JDT team-mate Andi Farid Izdihar to move to the top of the riders’ standings.
He also set a new ASB1000 lap record at Sepang on Saturday with a time of 2:04.335, earning a one million yen bonus.
The next ARRC round will take place at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand in May.
