Indonesia Adds Another Title at Australian Open 2025 Through Women’s Doubles

Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum win at Australia Open 2025 (PBSI)

Indonesia’s title haul at the Australian Open 2025 grew with a victory in the women’s doubles event. Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum clinched their first-ever Super 500 crown after defeating fellow Indonesians Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.

The all-Indonesian showdown at Quaycentre, Olympic Boulevard, Sydney, on Sunday (Nov 23, 2025), was a nail-biter. Rachel/Febi triumphed 18-21, 21-19, 23-21 in a grueling battle that lasted 1 hour and 49 minutes.

This marks the highest achievement for Rachel/Febi in 2025. Their very first final appearance immediately turned into a title — made even more special as the duo was only paired in September.

“We were truly emotional after winning this match. We were trailing most of the time, constantly under pressure, but managed to turn things around. It proves that in any situation, we still have a chance to become champions. I couldn’t hold back my tears,” said Rachel.

“From here, we want to maintain this good performance, keep learning because there are so many lessons from these matches. We definitely want to improve and break into the top level,” she added.

Febi echoed the sentiment: “This title means so much to me. It’s very hard to achieve because it takes sacrifice, hard work, and perseverance.”

“We dedicate this victory to our families, coaches, PBSI, our fellow women’s doubles players, and all Indonesians who have supported us,” Febi said.

On the other side, Ana/Trias accepted the defeat gracefully, vowing to learn from missed opportunities after failing to maintain momentum despite leading several times.

“We’re not satisfied yet. We need to keep learning and fixing mistakes. But we’re still grateful for this result. We’ll keep fighting, never give up, and train hard until we become champions,” said Trias.
