Palestine forward Wessam Abou Ali on Celtic radar

Palestine forward Wessam Abou Ali could be heading to the Scottish Premiership in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to reports in Scotland, Wilfried Nancy, tipped to take over at Celtic in the coming days, is keen on having his Columbus Crew forward with him in Glasgow.

However, it is unclear if the Major League Soccer side would be willing to part with the 26-year-old so soon after signing him from Egyptian giants Al-Ahly in July.

The Danish-born Palestinian scored three goals in five matches for the Black and Gold, who ended their 2025 campaign on a disappointing note after being knocked out in the first round of the MLS Cup Play-offs by FC Cincinnati.

Meanwhile, the Bhoys have enjoyed a resurgence under interim manager Martin O’Neill following a poor start under Brendan Rodgers.

Since returning to the touchline on October 27, O’Neill has led the Hoops to five wins in six matches, including Thursday’s 3-1 victory over Feyenoord in the UEFA Europa League.

The Irishman is expected to still remain in charge for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Hibernian.

The defending champions are currently four points behind league leaders Hearts, albeit with a game in hand.
