Raymond/Joaquin Secure First Super 500 Title at Australian Open

Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin win at Australia Open 2025 (PBSI).

Indonesian men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin are on fire. After reaching the final of the Korea Masters (Super 300) two weeks ago, they have now clinched the title at the Australian Open 2025 (Super 500)!

At Quaycentre, Olympic Boulevard, Sydney, on Sunday (Nov 23, 2025), Raymond/Joaquin overcame fellow Indonesians Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Fikri with a scoreline of 22-20, 10-21, 21-18.

This result came as a surprise, considering Fajar/Fikri have also been in great form. In the seven tournaments prior to the Australia Open, they reached four finals and claimed one title — at the China Open (Super 1000) in late July.

“Praise God, this is proof that we can compete at the top level. We still have many targets ahead, and hopefully we can stay consistent and deliver our best performance like we did here,” said Raymond.

“We’ll make sure this title doesn’t become a burden. We want to keep playing freely in the upcoming matches,” he added.

Their impressive rise earned praise from the senior duo.

“The result wasn’t what we hoped for — we’re runners-up again. Of course, we’re disappointed, but we have to be grateful, especially seeing the performance of our juniors Raymond/Joaquin in this tournament,” said Fajar.

“Not only did they beat us today, but they also defeated seeded pairs from the very first round. Truly remarkable.”

“Their progress has been rapid. At the start of this year, they were still competing in the National Circuit, then moved up to win an International Challenge, a Super 100 title, finished runner-up at the Korea Masters, and now they’re champions at a Super 500 event. Hopefully, they continue to grow and stay consistent.”
