Thailand is set to host the 33rd SEA Games across Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla, with events unofficially beginning on December 3 and running for 17 days.<\/p>\n
However, recent torrential downpours submerged parts of the country including Songkhla, which the Thai government declared a disaster zone on Tuesday.
\nLocal media reported that the sports originally taking place in that province, including football, silat, karate, wushu, wrestling and Muay Thai, would be moved to other venues as a result.<\/p>\n
Meteorological forecasts warn that heavy rainfall could continue into early 2026, raising the likelihood of further disruptions and last-minute logistical adjustments.<\/p>\n
