Arsenal are beginning to feel the heat at the summit of the Premier League table after suffering their second league defeat of the season, a dramatic 2-1 loss to a resurgent Aston Villa side at Villa Park on Saturday (6\/12\/2025)<\/p>\n
The Gunners were rocked early when Villa struck in the 36th minute. Pau Torres whipped a teasing ball across the Arsenal penalty area, and Matty Cash ghosted in unmarked. His first-time volley was pure perfection\u2014lashed out of the air and past David Raya at blistering pace.<\/p>\n
It was a rare lapse for Arsenal, who had conceded in the first half of a league match only three times prior this season. They had won one and drawn two of those games, but this time the script flipped.<\/p>\n
The Gunners emerged for the second half with renewed purpose and found their equaliser in the 52nd minute, courtesy of substitute Leandro Trossard. It was a fluid attacking move initiated by Martin \u00d8degaard and Bukayo Saka down the right flank.<\/p>\n
Saka’s low ball across the six-yard box zipped past the outstretched hand of Emi Mart\u00ednez, leaving Trossard with a simple finish at the far post. The goal was Trossard’s 50th in the Premier League, and the second time he has scored in three successive league matches since February 2024.<\/p>\n
But Villa weren\u2019t done. Deep into stoppage time, the stadium erupted. Emi Buendia delivered the knockout blow in the 95th minute, curling a sumptuous strike past Raya from 10 yards out.<\/p>\n
Moments earlier, Raya had produced a miraculous save to deny Youri Tielemans on the line, but Villa kept the pressure alive\u2014and Buendia made it count. It was the final kick of the game.<\/p>\n
