Former MotoGP rider Sylvain Guintoli will take part in the 2026 London Marathon this April in memory of his late son, Luca.<\/p>\n

Luca passed away last July at the age of six after battling cancer.<\/p>\n

Ahead of last week\u2019s season-opening Thailand Grand Prix, Guintoli unveiled a specially designed running suit that he will wear during the marathon.<\/p>\n

The suit features Luca\u2019s name along with an image of Sonic the Hedgehog, Luca\u2019s favourite cartoon character.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old said he will run the marathon to raise awareness and support for children affected by cancer and their families.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it looks a bit extreme and strange, but I\u2019ll do it for a good cause, for children with cancer and for their families,\u201d said the Frenchman.<\/p>\n

Guintoli, who was also the 2014 WorldSBK champion, participated in seven MotoGP seasons over three separate spells, including the inaugural 2002 season.<\/p>\n
