{"id":5928,"date":"2026-08-18T06:54:02","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T06:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.spotvnow.com\/read\/?p=5928"},"modified":"2026-08-18T06:54:20","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T06:54:20","slug":"aprilia-wary-of-marc-marquez-threat-at-aragon-gp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.spotvnow.com\/read\/aprilia-wary-of-marc-marquez-threat-at-aragon-gp\/","title":{"rendered":"Aprilia wary of Marc Marquez threat at Aragon GP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aprilia may have dominated the 2026 British Grand Prix, but the MotoGP championship leader is expecting a much tougher challenge from Marc Marquez when the title fight resumes at Aragon at the end of August.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian manufacturer enjoyed a near-perfect weekend at Silverstone, sweeping the podium in both races as Jorge Martin won Saturday&#8217;s sprint before Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez led Martin and Marco Bezzecchi home in Sunday&#8217;s Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VeZZRi90980?si=5doo2vRvkwyks9g3\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The results strengthened Aprilia&#8217;s position at the top of the championship, with Martin extending his lead to 31 points over team-mate Bezzecchi, while Marquez slipped to fourth, 40 points off the summit.<\/p>\n<p>However, Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola tempered expectations heading into the next three Grands Prix, particularly the upcoming round at MotorLand Aragon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Aragon is very much a Marc circuit, while [Misano World Circuit and Red Bull Ring] are very much Ducati tracks,\u201d Rivola was quoted as saying by Moto.it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, I believe Aprilia has shown since the middle of last year that it is beginning to perform well at many more circuits than in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith two riders like ours and such a united, in-form team, I don\u2019t want to say that we\u2019re afraid of no one, but we\u2019ll certainly be fighting right down to the wire.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF;
