Lee Zii Jia finally bagged his first victory on the BWF World Tour after a 10-month wait, defeating India’s H. S. Prannoy at the 2026 BWF Indonesia Masters on Wednesday.
The Paris Olympic bronze medallist claimed a 21-19, 21-11 victory in 35 minutes to reach the round of 16, where he will face Thailand’s Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul, who eliminated Chinese Taipei shuttler Lee Chia-hao.

The 2022 Asian champion’s previous win dated back to 6 March 2025, when he defeated Kidambi Srikanth at the Orleans Masters.
That victory was one of just two wins he managed throughout the 2025 season, which was disrupted by ankle and back problems.
Aside from the Orleans Masters, his appearances last year were limited to the All England, Hong Kong Open, China Masters and the World Championships.
Lee began the 2026 season with first-round exits at both the Malaysia Open and India Open.
