Bradley Smith will become the second former MotoGP rider to compete in the inaugural Harley-Davidson Baggers World Cup after confirming his participation at next month’s British Grand Prix.
The Briton will line up at Silverstone as a wildcard rider for ParkinGO alongside full-time rider Filippo Rovelli.
“When the ParkinGO team and Harley-Davidson contacted me about Silverstone, I didn’t have to think twice,” he said.
“It will be my 14th British Grand Prix and racing in front of a home crowd is always something very special.
“I’ve started this new chapter with Harley-Davidson Factory Racing in the MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers series and have enjoyed it immensely so far.
“This wildcard now gives me the chance to ride the Harley again on the big international stage.”
Smith made 119 MotoGP starts between 2013 and 2020 with Tech3, KTM and Aprilia.
He also competed in MotoE, Moto2 and 125cc, where he finished runner-up in 2009.
Smith joins another familiar MotoGP name on the Baggers World Cup grid after former Ducati rider Andrea Iannone made his full-time championship debut with Niti Racing BWC earlier this season.
