In the Women’s Singles final, Wang Manyu ensured the trophy stayed on home soil, retaining the WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025 title she won last year. She overcame her determined compatriot Kuai Man in another high-quality, six-game thriller (11-7, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10) on Sunday, December 14, 2025,.
The match was neck and neck, a high-stakes duel where every point felt increasingly precious, and the raw emotions of the players were often visible. Wang’s signature loud cheer and fist pump after dominating a thrilling rally would quickly be followed by a frustrated shout after a missed opportunity.
Kuai showed incredible resilience, saving championship point twice, and pushing Wang to a phenomenal rally where both players were seemingly miles away from the table. Ultimately, Wang’s nerve held firm, giving her one last shot—an opportunity she coolly converted to secure the title.
The victory earned Wang Manyu a winner’s cheque of $80,000 USD and 1500 crucial ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking points. After the match, the champion was quick to pay tribute to her younger challenger for her tenacious role in the exciting finale.
“Both Kuai Man and I did an excellent job in the final today. During the match, although I took the lead twice, she fought back and levelled the score each time. Kuai Man showed great tenacity and resilience when she was behind, creating quite some difficulties for me.” said Manyu.
“Toward the end of the match, in the sixth game, I led 10-8, and she won the next points with some fantastic shots. However, I stayed determined and never doubted myself, which I believe was something I did very well.”
