The Indonesian men’s doubles pair, Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin, had to concede defeat to the more experienced opponents in the final of the BWF World Tour Super 300 Korea Masters 2025, held on Sunday (November 9, 2025). The match ended in a 1-2 loss for the Indonesian duo.
Raymond and Nikolaus started strong, taking the first game with a score of 21-16. However, momentum shifted in the second game, where the Korean pair Lee Jong-min and Wang Chan responded with a 21-16 win.
In the decisive third game, the experience of Lee and Wang proved crucial. Backed by the home crowd at the Wonkwang University Cultural and Sports Center in South Korea, they dominated the game and sealed the victory with a commanding 21-6 score.
“The match didn’t go as we had hoped. In the first game, we stuck to our attacking strategy and it worked well,” Joaquin said in a statement released on the PBSI website.
“In the second game, our opponents began to anticipate our shots, while we failed to respond effectively to their attacks. Our play in the second and third games lacked consistency—we rushed and got carried away,” he added.

Lee Jong-min and Wang Chan are a newly formed pair. Despite being ranked 234 in the world, compared to Raymond and Nikolaus who are ranked 37, Wang Chan’s experience gave them an edge.
At 25 years old, Wang has been competing on the BWF World Tour since 2019, making him more accustomed to high-pressure matches than the Indonesian pair, who only began competing at this level this year.
“In the second and third games, we made too many unforced errors and played unsafely. In the third game, we lacked the instinct to finish rallies because we were exhausted, which made it difficult to score points,” Raymond explained.
Following the Korea Masters, Raymond and Nikolaus are scheduled to compete in the Australian Open 2025 (Super 500), which will take place from November 18 to 23.
