Chrigor Moraes scored twice for Selangor before Stefano Brundo reduced the deficit for Penang. Ahmad Zikri Khalili added the hosts’ third to secure their fifth consecutive league victory.

Selangor moved level with leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim on 15 points, trailing on goal difference.

Hakim’s attention now returns to the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island on October 23-25, the first of five rounds remaining this season.

The AEON Credit-MT Helmets-MSi rider sits ninth in the Moto3 standings on 107 points after finishing 14th at the Indonesian Grand Prix last weekend.

His first full season has included third place at Mugello in May and a maiden victory at Brno in June.

In the Czech race, Hakim overcame a 12-place grid penalty to become Malaysia’s first Moto3 winner since Khairul Idham Pawi at the 2016 German Grand Prix.

He will return to Sepang after the Australian round, a year after making his Moto3 World Championship debut there as a wildcard.
