3 WorldSBK records in sight for Bulega at 2026 Hungarian Round

Nicolo Bulega has the chance to etch his name into the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) record books when the 2026 Hungarian Round gets underway this weekend, live on SPOTV NOW.
The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider has carried his momentum from the tail end of last season into 2026, making a perfect start with victories in Australia, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Including his four straight wins to close out 2025, the Italian is currently on a 13-race winning streak, equalling the all-time record held by Toprak Razgatlioglu.
A win in Race 1 at the Balaton Park Circuit would see Bulega claim the record outright.
Should he complete another hat-trick by coming out on top in the Superpole Race and Race 2, it would be his 11th and 12th wins to the start the season, surpassing Álvaro Bautista’s record of 11 set in 2019.
Bulega is also riding a streak of 22 consecutive podium finishes dating back to Race 2 of the 2025 Hungarian Round.
Three more podiums this weekend would see him match the all-time record of 25, jointly held by Razgatlioglu and Colin Edwards.

Thailand’s strength once again lies with their women’s team, who have become increasingly competitive in recent editions. Their Round of 16 finish in 2024 has demonstrated their ability to challenge higher-ranked opponents, and they will be looking to build on that progress in London. The men’s team, meanwhile, are seeking a turnaround after winless outings in both 2022 and 2024, with their last victory at the championships dating back to 2018.
Indonesian driver Sean Gelael is set to make his GT World Challenge Asia debut in the upcoming round at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
The 29-year-old will make a one-off appearance for Garage 75 in the Silver Cup category, lining up against the likes of Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and Chinese duo Franky Cheng Congfu and James Yu Kuai.
Gelael, who also competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup this season, will drive a Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo in the two 60-minute races.
The Mandalika outing will also mark his first competitive appearance at the circuit, adding further significance to the weekend.
“I am so happy to finally race at Mandalika,” he said.
“This will also be the first time, except for rallying, that I have contested an international car race in front of my beloved Indonesian crowd. So it promises to be a very special moment indeed.”
Gelael will not be the only Indonesian on the grid, joining Anderson Tanoto He, Andrew Haryanto, Setiawan Santoso and David Tjiptobiantoro, ensuring strong home representation.

Major League Baseball (MLB) have renewed its collaboration with Pokémon GO for the 2026 season, as the league looks to enhance the in-stadium experience through interactive features.
Following its initial rollout, the initiative once again integrates the mobile game into all 30 MLB ballparks, turning stadiums into playable environments during game days from April 22 to September 30.

Álex Rins confirmed he will leave the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team at the end of the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old made the announcement on Thursday ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, revealing that the Japanese team already signed a replacement, widely rumoured to be Ai Ogura.
"11 days ago, when I called Massimo Meregalli, I asked him straight away, do you have any update?" he said.
"He told me he shouldn’t say anything, but he would tell me because he has a good relationship with me. He said, ‘don’t say anything now, but we have signed the second rider.’
"I’m not in a really good moment because of this news […] But they took a decision, so I need to respect it.
"I will be giving 100%. I’m the same Alex who won with Suzuki and Honda, and there are still 18 races in front of us. So we’re going to go for everything."
Rins joined Yamaha in 2024 after recovering from a serious leg injury but struggled to get back to his best and match the pace of team-mate Fabio Quartararo.
